This talk deals with Indigenous-led mycological development towards achieving food sovereignty in Indigenous territories, focusing on a nascent community-based traditional foods project.

BIOGRAPHY

Keith Williams is the Director of Research and Social Innovation at First Nations Technical Institute, on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Keith’s mushroom-related work, over the years, has spanned ethnomycology, forest fungi ecology, non-timber forest products (NTFPs), and fungal biodiversity research in coastal dune ecosystems. In his spare time, Keith grows a range of gourmet and medicinal mushroom species.
